King of France (born 1601) from 1610 until his death in 1643. Manuscript DS, in French, signed “Louis,” one page on vellum, 16 x 11.25, May 22, 1630. An official pay order. Accompanied by an antique portrait engraving. In good condition, with slightly irregular ink flow to signature, heavy wrinkling and creasing (vertical crease just touching last letter of signature), soiling, staining, toning, and cut cancellation to blank margin at lower left.
