ALS signed “Frederic Dannay (‘Ellery Queen’),” one page both sides, 7.25 x 10.5, Ellery Queen’s Mystery Magazine letterhead, October 24, 1970. Dannay writes to Mr. Fitz. In part: “Oh, I’m afraid EQ has been guilty of many slips! We try not to be—but, alas, we’re all too human. I had a ‘feeling’ that I was wrong about the Dunsany story. But after checking everywhere I could think of, and even writing to Lord Dunsany … and finding no record … well, I jumped to the conclusion, and you have proved me wrong. That Luce book you have in your Dunsany collection must be an elusive edition….” Mailing fold just touching one letter of signature, otherwise very fine condition. R&R COA.
