ALS signed “Danl. Webster,” three pages on two adjoining sheets, 4.5 x 7, June 11, 1842. Webster writes to the prominent English economist Nassau William Senior (1790–1864), introducing Mr. J. Prescott Hall, “a friend of mine, & a highly respectable member of the American Bar,” thanking Senior for his two articles (“You have treated us very fairly, on the whole”), and mentioning that he has been talking with Lord Ashburton, who “is very acceptable to our good people; & England could hardly have sent a better representative.” In fine condition, with mild wrinkling and soiling, and second sheet affixed to a slightly larger sheet.
