Pen name of French author Emile Herzog. Lot of three one page ALSs, two on his personal letterhead and one on Hotel de Paris letterhead, dated between 1953 and 1954, all signed “Andre Maurois.” Two are written to Mr. Brockway, one stating “Goethe always used the word Daemon to speak of his inner guiding spirit. Would one write it Daemon or Demon?” The third letter reads, “I am worried about my Gazette story. It was sent (registered) two months ago. Since then I heard nothing. What happened? And when is it going to be published?” In fine condition, with light paperclip impressions to all three top edges. R&R COA.
