“Principal due 1986”

One of the most successful and influential financiers in American history (1837–1913) and founder of U.S. Steel Corporation, the world’s first billion-dollar company. DS, one page both sides, 12.5 x 8.75, June 30, 1886. An attractive, elaborately engraved mortgage bond for the New Jersey Junction Railroad Company in the amount of $1,000, signed by Morgan as trustee. Matted and framed with an unsigned portrait (so both sides of bond are visible) to an overall size of 24.75 x 20. In fine, crisp condition, with embossed seal very slightly touching Morgan’s signature. COA John Reznikoff/PSA/DNA and R&R COA. Oversized.
