Teacher and humanitarian (1821–1912) best known for organizing the relief organization the American Red Cross. Distinguished 8.25 x 10.25 paperstock photo of a seated Barton with facsimile sentiment and signature, additionally signed in fountain pen, “Clara Barton.” Presented in its original artist-signed and dated (1903) “pyrographic” (i.e., decoratively wood-burned) frame to an overall size of 14 x 16. In very good condition, with light toning, scattered light soiling, and dampstaining to top margin, just touching background of image. COA John Reznikoff/PSA/DNA and R&R COA.
