Free franked envelope, 6 x 3.75, addressed in Johnson’s hand to “Mr. Thos S. Weir, Jacksboro, Tennessee,” and franked in the top right, “Free USS, Andrew Johnson.” Envelope contained a letter from Johnson to Weir, regarding a previously sent letter from Weir, which is included with the envelope. In good to very food condition, with scattered toning and soiling, tape repair to tear along top edge just to the left of Johnson’s signature, repaired area of paper loss to bottom edge, minor separation from back of envelope and scattered light creasing.
