Touring Europe, Satchmo makes sure he gets his fix of “some lip salve to be sent to me in care of the Berlin Hotel.”

ALS, one page, 6 x 8.25, Austrian Airlines letterhead, February 22, 1959. Letter written while in flight to Germany. In part, “Forgive me the delay in sending you this check for, one hundred marks, for some lip salve to be sent to me in care of the Berlin Hotel…Since Lucille & I talked with you on the telephone, I have been very, very busy.” Accompanied by the original mailing envelope, addressed in Armstrong’s hand, with his full signature appearing on the reverse in the return address area. In fine condition, with mailing folds, punch holes to left edge and a few light wrinkles. R&R COA.
