Fantastic lot of eighteen vintage sepia matte-finish portraits, ranging in size from 3.5 x 5.5 to 6.5 x 8.5, each signed in fountain pen by the actor pictured. Included: May Whitty, Reggie [Reginald] Gardiner, Alan Hale, Olivia de Havilland, Cedric Hardwicke (ins and dated 1944), K.T. Stevens, Barbara Stanwyck and Robert Taylor (as they appeared in a film), Ann Rutherford, George Sanders, John Quaker (ins), Ethel Merman (ins), Raymond Massey, Herbert Marshall, Samuel S. Hinds (who adds “The Hollywood Admiral” beneath his signature), Cecil Kellaway (ins), Jim Nesbitt, Jack Haley and Charles Coburn. Several are inscribed “To Rita.” In overall fine condition, with the occasional crease, light toning or slight smudge to a signature. R&R COA.
