Academy Award-winning actress for her role in The Bad and The Beautiful. Her first public recognition came on loan-out in It's a Wonderful Life. Though her talent and sex appeal were of star quality, she did not fit the star pattern at MGM, which sold her contract to RKO in 1947. The 1950s, her best period, brought Gloria a supporting actress Oscar and type-cast her as shady, sultry ladies in seven well-known film-noir films. Gorgeous signed and inscribed vintage 3.5 x 5.5 postcard portrait of the blonde actress, a hand-addressed note on the correspondence side. It reads, in full: “Thank you for your kind request. Am now with RKO Studios, Hollywood, Have just completed Merton of the Movies, Song of The Thin Man, Crossfire and Roughshod.
