Artist, and accomplished mail order fisherman, “I send you your pirch [sic] that I caught in front of your cottage this morning. They are skinned and put in this shape by Winslow Homer.”

One of the foremost American painters of the nineteenth century. ALS signed “W. Homer,” one page both sides, 5 x 8, August 21, 1907. Letter to a lady who rented a cottage from Homer every year. In full, “I send you your pirch [sic] that I caught in front of your cottage this morning. They are skinned and put in this shape by Winslow Homer N. A. - so that when you get to Aden on the Red Sea & are eating American salt-cod, you will ponder on these things.” In fine condition, with a light shade of toning and two horizontal mailing folds.
