In full: “I am sorry that I didn’t reply to your telegram inviting me to luncheon last Wednesday. Unfortunately, this did not reach me before I left for New York.” At the conclusion, Kennedy pens and signs a postscript: “It was nice to hear from you again.” Accompanied by the original mailing envelope.
