Butler signed cut on lined sheet from a longer letter or document; an ALS dated April 11, 1852 signed by W[illiam] O. Butler; an ALS to his daughter, signed “Dad” from John A. Dahlgren along with the address panel, also in Dahlgren’s hand; S[amuel] F[rancis] DuPont cut from a longer letter; purchase order from the U.S. Navy Department, dated July 31, 1872 signed by L[ouis] M. Goldsborough; card signed “Nelson A. Miles, Lieutenant General, Comdg. U.S. Army and dated 1901; Thos. Wentworth Higginson) adding “Newport, R.I.” on a card; “D[avid] Hunter, Maj. Gen. Com.” at the conclusion of what appears to be a docket, dated May 22, 1863; DS, signed at the Conclusion by “Harry S. New”; an ALS signed B. F. Tracy; slip cut from a longer letter or document, signed G[eorge] H. Thomas; “P[hilip] H. Sheridan General, USA” on a sheet cut from a longer letter; Wm. H. In overall fine to very good condition, with expected age toning, the occasional crease or chip, several affixed to cards or sheets of a slightly larger size, water damage, toning and a separation through a portion of Sheridan’s signature, collector’s unobtrusive pencil notations to many.
