Alfred adds his own thoughts, in part, “Take this as from me too: to me too it is an unspeakable loss & if Edward Lear’s letters had not prepared us for the event would have been still harder…he has been very kind in giving us almost daily bulletins.” In fine condition, with expected folds, light show through from text on reverse.
