?I would have wrote sooner, however, we are having a lot of trouble here in Walpole!!! As I?m sure you must have been reading in the papers. If its not one thing its another, like a stabbing, then a murder?each and every day?never a dull moment in here.?

The Boston Strangler. In the early 1960s, DeSalvo murdered 13 women, each with an item of her own clothing. Although he confessed to the crimes, he was never tried for any of the murders but was sentenced to life in jail for a series of burglaries and sexual assaults. In 1973, he was found stabbed to death in his prison bed. TLS, one page, 6 x 9, June 20, 1973. In part: 'I would have wrote sooner, however, we are having a lot of trouble here in Walpole!!! As I'm sure you must have been reading in the papers. If its not one thing its another, like a stabbing, then a murder...each and every day...never a dull moment in here...we had nothing but riot after riot...would love having a picture of you...how about one of you in a bathing suit...I would keep you at the foot of my bed so I could dream of you each night...I am writing a book...I also am going to have a movie made, here in prison of my life.' In fine condition. A rare autograph in any form. RRAuction COA.
