Al Worden's personally-owned signed book: Winged Rocketry by Maj. James C. Sparks. First edition. NY: Dodd, Mead & Company, 1968. Hardcover, 6.25 x 9.25, 183 pages. Signed and inscribed on the first free end page in black felt tip by the author, "Ed: One of the most dedicated 'Blue Suiters' I know, Jim," and on the reverse of the same page in blue ballpoint, "Chuck Yeager." An attached slip is imprinted: "Presented to a friend of James C. Sparks, Major, U.S. Air Force (Ret.), Wings Club, N.Y., October, 1968, Twenty-first anniversary of the breaking of the sound barrier in manned flight." In fine condition, with light rust stains from the presentation slip's paperclip.
