Description

Signatures acquired at their final British performance in 1966

Vintage ballpoint signatures, “Paul McCartney,” “Ringo Starr,” “John Lennon,” and “George Harrison,” on an off-white 4.5 x 3.5 sheet. Matted with a postcard photo of the band during the Revolver recording sessions to an overall size of 9.5 x 16.25. In fine condition, with some mild wrinkling and creasing and a bit of mild toning. Signatures were originally obtained by a journalist at the New Musical Express Poll-Winners concert at the Empire Pool in London on May 1, 1966, where the band performed in front of 10,000 fans in their last live concert in Britain. The band played a brief 15-minute set before leaving the stage for the final time—an unbelievably important date in their careers. By this time, their immense popularity and lack of enthusiasm for touring made them virtually unapproachable by fans. Pre-certified Roger Epperson/REAL and RR Auction COA.
