Portfolio suite of four limited edition giclee prints from the 2010 release of Bob Dylan's 'Drawn Blank' series, all numbered 83/295, 22 x 27.5, each signed in the lower border in pencil by Dylan. Recalling Monet's seasonal haystack scenes, each artwork captures the same railway scene in a different light, with skies brilliantly rendered in vivid reds, deep blues, stark whites, and verdant greens. In overall very fine condition. Housed together in their original 'Drawn Blank' portfolio folder, each print is accompanied by its corresponding certificate of authenticity from Washington Green Fine Art.
Dylan's popular Drawn Blank series originated with sketches made during tours of America, Europe, and Asia between 1989 and 1992, first published in book form by Random House in 1994. Dylan later returned to these images, reworking them in watercolor and gouache for his first major exhibition of the series in 2007, followed by limited edition graphics beginning in 2008. ‘Train Tracks’ was among the earliest subjects issued, and Dylan has returned to the image repeatedly in different colors and formats. This 2010 giclée edition was printed by GTZ Fine Art Editions of New York and published by Washington Green Fine Art in association with Black Buffalo Artworks, presenting one of the series’ most recognizable and sought-after subjects as a suite of four distinct color variations. Vividly rendered in the large ‘medium format,’ this striking suite showcases Dylan’s talents as a visual artist.
