Rare original 3.5 x 2.25 concert ticket for the Beatles’ performance at the Grosvenor Rooms in Norwich, England, on May 17, 1963, signed on the reverse in ballpoint by John Lennon, Paul McCartney, and Ringo Starr, and in ink by George Harrison. Interestingly, the Beatles have signed in reverse order. The front of the card lists the Beatles singles ‘From Me to You’ and ‘Please Please Me,’ and notes “Ricky Lee and the Hucklebucks” as the supporting act. The reverse is stamped "W.A.H. Enterprises." In very good to fine condition, with overall wear and a central vertical fold. Accompanied by a certificate of authenticity from Tracks.
The Beatles’ May 17, 1963, performance at the Grosvenor Rooms marked their only performance in Norwich. The engagement came at a pivotal moment in the group’s rapid rise, with ‘From Me to You’ atop the UK singles chart and their debut album, Please Please Me, at number one. Booked for £250, the Beatles played two 20-minute sets before a crowd of some 1,700, having arrived that afternoon in their blue Bedford van and set up their own equipment on stage. The concert took place just one day before they embarked on a major UK tour with Roy Orbison, capturing the group at a remarkable transitional moment: already capable of packing a ballroom, but still months away from the full-scale frenzy of Beatlemania.
