Description

Massive signed book: The Rolling Stones. Limited Collector’s Edition, numbered 957/1600. Cologne, Germany: Taschen, 2014. Huge SUMO-size hardcover with dust jacket, 21.5˝ x 22˝ x 4.5˝, 518 pages, weighing 56 pounds, housed in the publisher’s purple clamshell presentation case with the band’s iconic tongue-and-lips emblem. Signed on the colophon page in black felt tip by Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Charlie Watts, and Ronnie Wood. In fine condition, with some scattered wear and marks to the presentation case, namely to the edges and back cover.

Produced in close collaboration with the Rolling Stones, this monumental photographic history traces the band from its formation in 1962 through more than five decades of music, performance, and cultural influence. Drawing on unprecedented access to the Stones’ own archives in New York and London, as well as photographic archives around the world, the volume contains hundreds of images by photographers including David Bailey, Cecil Beaton, Anton Corbijn, Annie Leibovitz, Gered Mankowitz, Helmut Newton, and Norman Parkinson, together with a foreword by Bill Clinton and essays by Luc Sante, David Dalton, and Waldemar Januszczak. A lavish and enormous band-authorized visual record of the Rolling Stones.
