Vintage matte-finish 6.5 x 8.5 portrait photo of Thomas Edison by Walter Scott Shinn of New York, signed and inscribed in the lower border in fountain pen, "To Frank D. Fagan, Thos. A. Edison.” Matted and framed to an overall size of 13 x 15. In very good to fine condition, with evidence of dampstaining and some areas of silvering.
Frank D. Fagan held the position of vice president and general manager of the Edison Storage Battery Company, a post to which he was elected on August 27, 1920, filling the vacancy left by the resignation of C. E. Sholes. His election placed Fagan within the senior management circle of Edison's storage battery enterprise at a pivotal moment in the company's operations.
