Description

Partly-printed vellum DS as president, one page, 15.75 x 9.75, May 24, 1824. President Monroe grants Morgan Penman of Monroe County a tract of land "in the District of Tuskaloosa and State of Alabama, containing Seventy [n]ine acres." Neatly signed at the conclusion in ink by President James Monroe, and countersigned by Commissioner of the General Land Office George Graham. The white paper seal affixed at the lower left is intact but partially detached. In very good to fine condition, with intersecting folds and a couple of small areas of paper loss, affecting a few words of the text.
