Description

Partly-printed DS as president, one page, 15 x 17.25, June 22, 1860. President Buchanan appoints James McMaster, "by and with the advice and consent of the Senate" as "an Assistant Surgeon in the Navy." Crisply signed at the conclusion in ink by President James Buchanan, and countersigned by Secretary of the Navy Isaac Toucey. The green seal affixed at the bottom remains fully intact. In very good to fine condition, with light mottled staining.
