German-born carpenter (1899–1936) who became the central figure in the 1932 Lindbergh kidnapping case, dubbed the 'Crime of the Century.' Original 7.75 x 5 photostat fingerprint sheet for Bruno Richard Hauptmann, convicted kidnapper of Charles A. Lindbergh Jr., bearing his complete rolled and plain fingerprint impressions, prisoner classification notations, a facsimile of his prisoner signature, and the upper left is annotated in red ink, “Electrocuted.” The photostat is affixed to the front of an original 8 x 8 Westchester County, New York, Bureau of Identification arrest record, which was completed following Hauptmann's September 20, 1934, arrest in New York City on an extortion charge stemming from the investigation into the Lindbergh kidnapping. The record lists his residence at 1279 E. 22nd Street in the Bronx, occupation as a carpenter, physical description, and nativity as "Kemenz, Germany." In very good to fine condition, with pinholes, a partial separation to the central horizontal fold, a short tear and bend to the bottom right corner, a light ring stain to the reverse.
