Polk”), Zachary Taylor (“Z. Taylor”), Millard Fillmore (“M. Fillmore”), Franklin Pierce, James Buchanan, Abraham Lincoln, Andrew Johnson, Ulysses S. Grant (“U. S. Grant”), Rutherford B. Hayes (“R. B. Hayes”), James A. Garfield (“J. A. Garfield”), Chester A. Arthur, Grover Cleveland (22nd and 24th president), Benjamin Harrison (“Benj. Harrison”), and William McKinley (“Wm. McKinley”). Each signature is penned on an off-white slip ranging in size from 2.5 x .75 to 4.75 x 1. Professionally matted with engraved portraits and framed to an overall size of 48.75 x 30.5, with the lower border of the frame bearing an engraved presentation plate: “Presented, To the Oxford Club, By Dr. Chas. E. Clark, Aug. 15, 1899.” In overall very good to fine condition, with some folds, and scattered stains and toning. Accompanied by a full letter of verification from Grad Authenticity. Spanning the first century of the American presidency – from George Washington through William McKinley – this remarkable display unites the signatures of the nation's first 25 presidents, and is highlighted by an exceptionally bold example autograph of Abraham Lincoln.
