Trappist monk, writer, and mystic (1915-1968) known for his best-selling autobiography The Seven Storey Mountain. Signed hardbound broadside: The Ox Mountain Parable of Ming Tzu. First edition, limited issue, numbered 50/100. Lexington, KY: Stamperia del Santuccio [Victor & Carolyn Hammer], 1960. Hardcover, 8 x 11.5, 8 pages. Signed and inscribed on the colophon in ink, "For Fr. Earty, cordial regards, Thomas Merton". In very good condition, with toning to the title strip on the cover, and occasional light foxing within.

From the personal collection of a lifelong collector, teacher, and traveler with a passion for world history. His collecting years ranged from the 1970s to the present day, meaning that several of the premier pieces have not been on the market in decades.
