Second page of a handwritten letter by George Harrison to Beatles friend and early supporter Astrid Kirchherr, penned in ballpoint on a 7.75 x 9.75 sheet in 1962. In part: “…must learn it quickly, and hope they will let us record it. I don't know what it is called, but I will tell them to sing it loud so you can hear it. I will send another letter with the new records, so cheerio – bye-bye, and I hope you are well. My mom sends her love to you.” Harrison signs his name twice, “George,” and adds a postscript below, “The photograph you made, has been made like this one, to give to the fans, the other one with the funny face is me with Joe Brown’s guitar. Joe Brown is at the ‘Star Club’ with us in December, [I think].” Included with the letter is an original vintage photograph of Harrison posing with Joe Brown’s guitar, a forensic ESDA analysis sheet of the letter’s first page, revealing indented handwriting impressions, and a signed certificate of authenticity from Astrid Kirchherr, stating that the material was sent to her by Harrison in 1962 and later published in the limited-edition Genesis Publications volume Hamburg Days. All of the items are matted and framed together to an overall size of 23 x 29. In overall fine condition.
