Description

Animals album by Pink Floyd, signed on the inner gatefold in ballpoint by Roger Waters, Nick Mason, David Gilmour, and Richard Wright. In fine condition, with light scuffing and edge wear, and moderate contrast to Waters' and Gilmour's signatures. The record is included. Accompanied by a letter of provenance from the original recipient: “In 1977, during Pink Floyd’s In the Flesh tour, WDR Radio in Dortmund, Germany, broadcast a program related to the band and their tour. As part of this broadcast, a telephone prize draw was held, offering listeners the opportunity to win a copy of a signed Pink Floyd album. The exact number of signed albums offered as prizes in this draw is not known to me. I entered the prize draw by calling the telephone number advertised during the broadcast and was lucky enough to win one of the signed albums!” Fully signed Pink Floyd items from this period are exceptionally scarce, as worsening internal tensions within the band made group signing opportunities increasingly uncommon during the late 1970s.
