Description

Paper airplane signed by the first man on the moon, Neil Armstrong

Ballpoint signature, “Neil Armstrong,” on the right side of a paper airplane measuring 10.75˝ in length, crafted from an “Asset Inc. Paper Airplane Contest” instruction sheet. The opposite side is signed in ink by veteran Space Shuttle astronaut Janice E. Voss. In fine, folded, and flight-ready condition.

Accompanied by a letter of provenance from the original recipient: “I hereby attest that the accompanying paper airplane was personally signed by Neil Armstrong and Janice Voss at an event held at Purdue University. In approximately 1995, when I was 13 years old, I participated in a paper airplane flying contest at Mollenkopf Athletic Center on campus at Purdue University. At the same time, a conference was taking place nearby that both Neil Armstrong and Janice Voss, both distinguished Purdue alumni, were attending. During the event, they stopped to observe the contest. My father recognized them and brought me over to meet them. In a lighthearted exchange, they commented on the aerodynamics of my paper airplane. I then asked if they would autograph it, and they graciously signed the airplane itself in my presence.”
