Apple’s PowerBook Duo 270c was introduced in October 1993 as the first color-screen model in the ultra-portable Duo line. Developed under the codename “Escher,” it featured a 33 MHz Motorola 68030 processor with 68882 FPU, an 8.4-inch active-matrix color display, and Apple’s distinctive 152-pin docking connector, allowing the slim notebook to expand into a desktop-style workstation when paired with a Duo Dock. As a prototype unit bearing Apple’s “Not For Resale” and FCC-approval warning markings, this example represents a scarce pre-production artifact from one of Apple’s most innovative early portable computer families.
