Partial handwritten lyrics by Prince for the song ‘Ol’ Skool Company,’ the eighth track from his 2009 album MPLSound, which was released as part of Lotusflow3r, a triple album set by Prince and protégée Bria Valente containing the Prince albums Lotusflow3r and MPLSound, his thirty-third and thirty-fourth studio albums, and Valente’s debut album, Elixer.
Headed “OSC” and “2,” the unsigned lyrics start and close in pencil, with the middle verse section penned in purple ink. The lyrics read, in part: “Cuz every day we need some OSC – we need it / sexy groove while we were pleadin / ruled in the community / 3. Everybody's sinked n the quicksand created by the keepers of time / cast aside by using ancient tricks that r changing ur state of mind / got u catering the whims of the flesh b4 / b4 u get ur paper right / call me ol fashioned, but back n the day wasn't no shorties n sight.
