An official order issued from the White House by President Kennedy, in full: "Pursuant to the provisions of the Renegotiation Act of 1951, as amended, I hereby designate Lawrence E. Hartwig as Chairman of the Renegotiation Board." Boldly signed at the conclusion in ink by President John F. Kennedy. Matted and framed to an overall size of 11.5 x 16.55. In fine condition. The Federal Renegotiation Board was established in 1951 to review and renegotiate defense contracts to prevent excessive profits by private enterprise.
