ALS in pencil, one page, 6 x 9.5, personal 'Office of The Post-Dispatch' letterhead, [1880]. Handwritten letter to a colonel in part: “Judge…writes me that he made the same engagement with his wife and cannot be with us. This leaves room for one or two more. Don't forget to get Bill Roland or some other good fellow or two.” In very good to fine condition, with slightly irregular light staining.
