King of France (born 1553), the first of the Bourbon line, who ruled from 1589 until he was assassinated in 1610. Vellum manuscript DS in French, signed “Henry,” one page, 11.25 x 7, 1604. Document summoning the Estates of Languedoc to assemble at Albi, urging prompt attendance and loyal cooperation with his deputies. Prominently signed at the center in ink by King Henry IV. In fine condition, with light fading to the signature, and thinness of the vellum at the bottom lending a slightly mottled appearance.
