ALS signed “John G. Whittier,” one page, 4.25 x 7, October 31, 1888. Handwritten letter to "Rev. Phillips Brooks," a famous preacher remembered as the lyricist of the Christmas hymn 'O Little Town of Bethlehem.' In full: "Shall be glad to see you here Tuesday, by twelve thirty train." In very good to fine condition, with partial splitting to the mailing folds.
