Description

Series 1976 two-dollar bill, signed on the portrait side in black ink by the full STS-40 crew, plus their backup Payload Bay Specialist, the Treasurer of the United States, and the Secretary of the Treasury. Signers are: Millie Hughes-Fulford, Rhea Seddon, Bryan O'Connor, James Bagian, Bob Philips (backup crew member), Drew Gaffney, Sidney Gutierrez (who adds "Best Wishes"), Treasurer Francine Neff, and Treasury Secretary William E. Simon. In fine condition. A nine-day mission launched on June 5, 1991, STS-40 was the eleventh flight of the Space Shuttle Columbia; it was the fifth Spacelab mission and the first dedicated solely to biology.
