This piece at blue you ran off, that Effigenio brings to you, is perfect. Could you make enough, with a couple of yards left over, for a window seat and cushions – and could it be scotch guarded before I send it to the seamstress? 2 seat cushion - 48 x 30 x 3˝ deep with welts and covered buttons / 6 pillows - 16 x 16˝ with zippers / I’ll still catch up with you this winter. I hope you are well and happy. Caroline’s beautiful tablecloths are stored with her wedding dress. I hope she sent you a picture If not I’ll get one of r you. Much love to you and Leslie.” In very fine condition.

From the 1940s through the 1970s, Doris Doctorow (D.D.) and Leslie Tillett ran Tillett Textiles as a husband-and-wife team, designing and printing custom fabrics in their home studio on Manhattan’s Upper East Side. They met in Mexico—Leslie, an artist, and D.D., a photojournalist for Harper’s Bazaar—and began producing hand-printed textiles known for their painterly quality and hands-on techniques. Their work quickly found an audience among leading tastemakers, including Jacqueline Kennedy, who commissioned their fabrics for the White House, as well as Bunny Mellon, Greta Garbo, Gary Cooper, Harry S. Truman, and more.
