Description

"Since the O.J. trial and the publicity the company received from the media about Simpson eating at McDonald's, I have been swamped with requests for autographs"

Founder of the restaurant chain that bears his name (1909–1998), which began as a hamburger stand and grew into an international, multibillion-dollar empire. TLS signed “Richard J. McDonald,” one page, personal letterhead, April 12, 1995. Letter to David W. Bosone, in part: "Since the O.J. trial and the publicity the company received from the media about Simpson eating at McDonald's, I have been swamped with requests for autographs from all over the country and several foreign countries. I was never a great collector of photographs and the few I did have are long gone." In fine condition. Accompanied by the original mailing envelope.

From the personal collection of a lifelong collector, teacher, and traveler with a passion for world history. His collecting years ranged from the 1970s to the present day, meaning that several of the premier pieces have not been on the market in decades.
