Description

Born Benedetto Odescalchi in 1611, he served as Pope from 1676 until his death in 1689, and was known in Budapest as the 'Savior of Hungary.' ALS in Italian, signed “B. Cardle. Odescalco,” one page, 7.5 x 10.25, 1650. Untranslated handwritten letter, signed at the conclusion by the future Pope Innocent XI as cardinal. In very good to fine condition, with a stain to the right edge.
