Handwritten letter to Richard von Otlieb of Vienna, mentioning that he has just arrived at Torre del Lago after an arduous journey, and that he recalls Vienna with nostalgia. In part (translated): "We’ve arrived—after unspeakable delays… Here we now have spring-like weather—but an ineffable boredom—We remember Vienna with nostalgia, the most courteous city I know—and our dear new friends, you foremost among them—We will never forget the kindness shown to us and the good company you provided—Now we are far away, but our thoughts are often near Madame Terry and you, dear friend."
