Limited edition color 20 x 27 silkscreen print of Jimi Hendrix cast in blue stage light and playing his guitar during a live performance, an image originally taken by photographer Linda McCartney in 1977, numbered 7/150, signed in the lower border in pencil by McCartney, who has numbered the portrait as “8” in the lower left corner. The reverse bears the publisher’s “K” stamp with number, “8369.” In fine condition, with a couple of faint creases to the right border.
This silkscreen print was issued as part of a series of 150 boxed image sets, each containing 14 images, released in conjunction with the publication of Linda’s Pictures: A Collection of Photographs, Linda McCartney’s first photography book, published by Random House in 1976. The present example comes from set No. 7 of the 150 produced, with the Hendrix image designated as image No. 8 within that 14-image set. The photograph is reproduced on page 71 of the book.
