American inventor and industrialist (1831-1897) best known for developing the first successful railroad sleeping car. Partly-printed DS, signed “Geo. M. Pullman,” one page, 16.25 x 23.5, June 26, 1871. Bond of Pullman's Palace Car Company in the amount of $1000, signed at the conclusion in ink by Pullman as the company's president and by Charles W. Angell as secretary. The bond retains 28 of its coupons at the bottom. In fine condition.
