French educator and historian (1863–1937) who is best remembered as being the founder of the International Olympic Committee, and its second President. He is known as the father of the modern Olympic Games. ALS in French, three pages on two adjoining sheets, 5.25 x 8.25, March 11, 1929. Handwritten letter in which Coubertin happily informs his friend that he has discovered two copies of an essay that appeared in the "Nouvelle Revue" published by Madame Adam, and which he believes might be of interest. He also wants to know what publications and brochures his friend possesses or lacks concerning Coubertin's passionate written expressions of thought, and will try to obtain a few copies when he is back in Switzerland for international assignments.
