Description

Kindle 1.0 signed by Amazon founder Jeff Bezos

Rare first generation Amazon Kindle e-reader, signed on the front bezel in black felt tip by Amazon founder Jeff Bezos. The Kindle is housed in its original box, identifying the unit as "Serial No. B0 01C1B8 8225 1680," along with its original case, charging cable, USB cable, and user's guide. In fine condition, with light wear to the box and case. The consignor reports that Jeff Bezos signed this for him about seven years ago; at the time, he remarked that he had never signed a first-gen Kindle before.

Jeff Bezos’s vision for Amazon as a customer-obsessed technology company paved the way for the creation of the Kindle, which debuted in 2007 as one of the first mass-market e-readers to truly replicate—and reinvent—the experience of reading books. Developed to make books instantly accessible anywhere, the Kindle combined Amazon’s vast digital catalog with innovative e-ink technology, quickly transforming reading habits worldwide. Its legacy includes helping popularize e-books, reshaping the publishing industry, and reinforcing Amazon’s role as a dominant force in digital content and consumer hardware.
