Uncommon Civil War-dated manuscript “National Democratic Ticket” election ballot for the “Presidential Election, Tuesday Nov. 8, 1864,” issued for Miami County in Ohio, 5 x 8, which, at the top, lists the nominees for the heads of state: “For President of the United States, George B. McClellan, of New Jersey, For Vice President, George H. Pendleton, of Ohio.” The ballot also lists a total of 21 local politicians. In fine condition. Handwritten ballots are far scarcer than printed counterparts, with ballots cast for McClellan being of much greater scarcity than those cast for the winning ticket of Lincoln and Johnson.
