Original ‘User’s Guide’ for Microsoft Windows 1.0, signed by Bill Gates at the 1985 COMDEX Convention when the operating system was officially announced

Original spiral-bound ‘User’s Guide’ for Microsoft Windows 1.0 (Operating Environment), 7.25 x 8.5, 183 pages, signed and inscribed on the title page in black felt tip, “Enjoy the product, Janos, William H. Gates, 11/20/85.” The guide includes its original Microsoft Windows 1.0 box, with five 5.25˝ floppy disks (Operating Environment Setup Disk, Build Disk, Utilities Disk, and Desktop Applications Disk, plus a Microsoft Windows Write Program Disk), associated guides, quick reference card, and registration card. In fine condition, with heavy wear only to the original box. Accompanied by a full letter of authenticity from JSA.

Per the consignor: ‘My husband and I acquired the software at the 1985 Comdex Convention. As members of the press, we were invited to the press conference and reception announcing the release of Windows 1.0. The software was given to those in attendance. My husband introduced himself to Mr. Gates, and he graciously signed our copy of the software.’
