Gilt-edged placecard with an embossed presidential seal, 4.25 x 2.25, issued for “Mr. Shanker,” signed below in ballpoint by Ronald Reagan. In fine condition, with two small stains near the top edge. Although unconfirmed, the placeholder card may have belonged to Albert Shanker (1928–1997), an American union organizer and labor activist who served as president of the United Federation of Teachers from 1964 to 1985, and president of the American Federation of Teachers (AFT) from 1974 to 1997.
