Description

Report card for 12-year-old Ted Kennedy as a seventh-grade student at The Fessenden School in West Newton, Massachusetts, one page both sides, 8.5 x 14, issued for the Fall term of 1944. Kennedy’s exam and term grades are average-to-below-average across all subjects, with Kennedy receiving his highest marks in Science (“76” and “72”) and his lowest in English (“58” and “61”). His class rank in form is 27 of 43, which, per his conduct statement, is “much better than last year.” The concluding remark on Kennedy’s “Remedial Work and Tutoring” reads: “When Teddy makes the required effort to improve his reading, spelling, and vocabulary, he usually succeeds, but I think that he has not learned how to divide his time and give each subject its fair amount of time. The subjects which interest him the most, such as mathematics, get an undue amount of time.” In very good to fine condition, with scattered staining.
