Autograph endorsement signed, "Mr. Garnett has my best wishes for success, John Tyler," penned on a letter to the Hon. William T. Barry, three pages on two adjoining sheets, 7.75 x 10, March 22, 1830. Tyler endorses a letter carrying several testimonial statements in favor of the appointment of Henry T. Garnett of Virginia to a clerkship; other signers include John Roane, John Taliaferro, John M. Patton, Samuel Carson, and Nathaniel Claiborne. In very good to fine condition, with partial splitting to the folds.
