Souvenir seat cushion from Super Bowl XXI, the NFL championship game between AFC champs Denver Broncos and NFC champs New York Giants, which was played at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California, on January 25, 1987. The cushion measures 14˝ x 14˝ x 2.25 and is signed on the top in black felt tip by Lawrence Taylor and Phil Simms, who both add their respective jersey numbers. In fine condition.
The Giants defeated the Broncos, 39–20, for their first Super Bowl and first NFL title since 1956, with Simms winning the MVP award. The Giants' defense was anchored by LT, who, in 1986, had one of the league’s most dominating seasons: he won both the NFL Defensive Player of the Year Award and the NFL Most Valuable Player Award, in large part due to his league-leading 20.5 sacks.
